YS-202 modified silicone MS sealant is a two-component, non-drooping sealing material, which is composed of internationally leading modified silicone prepolymer and curing agent. The curing speed of YS-202 is 5 times quicker than that of one-component silicone or polyurethane sealant. It may rapidly cure to form a stable and continuous bonding surface, to avoid weak bonding points of colloid in the curing process caused by the joint displacement or deformation.
When used, the two components are mixed in a certain proportion, sucked into a special glue gun and applied to the joints to form a paintable and well-displaceable waterproof sealing layer.

Uses

YS-202 is suitable for inter-plate displacement joints of concrete components in PC buildings, joints between PC plates and door and window frames, shield subway segments, and joints between prefabricated integrated pipe corridors, etc.

Construction process

Substrate Preparation → Backing Material Installation → Primer Application → Sealant Mixing → Sealant Application & Embedment → Finishing  
Key Construction Steps:
1. Substrate Preparation: 
Ensure the substrate surface is clean, rigid, dry, and free of oil, contaminants (e.g., release agents, curing membranes, or hydrophobic coatings).  
2. Backing Material Installation: 
Apply protective tapes to both sides of the joint and install backing material to control sealant depth and prevent three-sided adhesion.  
3. Primer Application: 
Apply primer evenly to the substrate until fully covered. Allow the primer to dry completely before sealant application. Reference dosage: 5 grams per linear meter (g/m).  
4. Sealant Mixing: 
Use a dedicated mixer to mix the base component and curing agent for 15-20 minutes until homogeneous according to the ratio specified on the packaging. Add color paste during mixing if tinting is required.  
5. Sealant Application & Embedment: 
Load the mixed sealant into a caulking gun. Apply the sealant into the joint, ensuring it protrudes slightly above the substrate surface to allow for tooling. 
6. Finishing: 
Use a putty knife or spatula to tool the sealant in one direction, eliminating air bubbles and excess material (recycle excess sealant if feasible). Shape the surface into a flat or slightly concave profile. Remove protective tapes immediately after tooling.

Storage and shelf life

During transportation, keep away from moisture, rain, sun, high temperature, heat source, handle with care, and avoid squeezing and collision. Products are transported as non-dangerous goods.
The product should be stored in a ventilated, dry, cool place, and avoid direct sunlight. Isolate from fire and heat source. The storage temperature should be 5-30°C. The shelf life of the product with intact packaging and sealing is 6 months.

Notice

1. Before use, ensure that the sealant is within the warranty period. The prepared sealant must be used within 2 hours.
2. Poor ventilation, low temperature, and dry environment will slow down the curing speed: construction is not recommended when the temperature is below 5°C.
3. Compatibility testing is required before spraying paint on the sealant surface.
4. Do not discard uncured sealant into the sewer, water or soil.
5. Before curing, the sealant should avoid contact with eyes and skin. If it comes into contact with the skin, first scrub it with soapy water or alcohol, then rinse with clean water; if it comes into contact with the eyes, first rinse with plenty of clean water, and seek medical attention immediately if necessary.
